Welcome to BookABuoy. This platform enables you to list your available mooring facilities for rent, while sailors can easily find, book, and pay for moorings online.

What BookABuoy Provides Owners

• New Income: Easily list unused moorings for rent and earn income.
• Easy Management: A streamlined platform for managing listings, availability, and bookings.
• Increased Visibility: BookABuoy undertakes regular social media campaigns which your mooring will be eligible for and will from time to time be included in. This includes but is not limited to various Google platforms, various Meta platforms, and others.
• Secure Transactions: Bookings and payments are handled safely and efficiently through the platform.
• No Long Term Contracts: Flexible listing options with no lock-in.

Warranty Requirements

By listing on BookABuoy, you warrant that:

• The information you provide on your mooring or berth such as size, location, and tackle is accurate.
• The mooring or berth is fully compliant with any required inspection, construction, and certification requirements for the region.

Calendar Availability Options

You are in control of the availability of your mooring and can choose to set it to Instant Book or Approval Required.

Instant Book

Sailors will select dates required, a check will be made on mooring size, and the payment will be processed. The sailor will receive immediate confirmation of their booking. You will also receive confirmation. No action is required by you. A confirmed booking may not be cancelled by an owner. Once a booking is confirmed you are liable to honour the booking and ensure the mooring is available for the sailor on the agreed dates.

Approval Required

You will receive a copy of the requested booking and you have up to 48 hours to confirm and accept the booking. If you do not confirm the booking within this timeframe the booking will be cancelled. If you confirm the booking the sailor is advised and they may choose to proceed or not proceed with the booking. Once you have accepted a booking request you are liable to honour the booking and ensure the mooring is available for the sailor on the agreed dates.

Payment

• Sailors may book a mooring at any time.
• Within three days of the booking commencement a sailor may not cancel the booking and it is deemed unconditional.
• Once a booking is unconditional you will be paid the full amount of the rental, less the BookABuoy service charge.
• Payment is made within 1-5 business days after the booking is completed.

Pricing

• You will set the hire rate for your mooring. You can update this rate at any time through your account.
• The BookABuoy service charge is a flat $5 per night.

Liability

BookABuoy complies with and adheres to a comprehensive safety operation plan in accordance with Harbour Master instructions, Maritime New Zealand (MNZ), and local council requirements.

We take all practical steps to ensure correctly sized, insured vessels, and competent sailors use your mooring or berth. However, to the extent permitted by law, BookABuoy accepts no liability for damage caused by sailors to your mooring or property.

You agree to release from liability and hold blameless BookABuoy from any liability in connection with any matter relating to the rental of your mooring which may give rise to damage or loss of property, personal accident, injury, death, or loss of any nature.
